Technique/Tools of the Trade
Thursday
Large quantities of beef, chicken, turkey or pork cooked in a slow cooker can easily be shredded by using your Kitchen Aid (TM) Stand Mixer.
I learned this trick/technique while scanning Pinterest.
When you are cooking meat for a large crew or preparing meals in advance
this technique is truly a time saver!
TECHNIQUE
· Put your slow cooked meat in the bowl of your Kitchen-Aid stand
mixer
fitted with the paddle attachment.
·
Turn the mixer on low….low speed is important
(this process only takes a few seconds) otherwise
you will have meat flying everywhere.
·
Continue until the meat is shredded to your liking.
DO NOT OVER
SHRED!
Once the meat is
shredded add to the recipe you are making OR freeze in an appropriate freezer
container for future use. Be sure to label package before placing meat inside.
Let me know if you try
it and how YOU like it!
